So, has anyone here tried out Liftoff sim in manual mode and compared it to flying the real thing, like Avata 2 or Neo? I’ve been messing around with it for about 30 minutes, set to 60% prop wash, and it feels super easy. I’m zooming all over the place, doing tricks and going up and over obstacles.
But now I’m wondering if it’s just because the sim doesn’t have wind settings or something. I’ve downloaded different profiles for Avata 2 and Neo, and the Neo one is a bit tougher, but still manageable. If I try this in real life tomorrow, am I in for a surprise? Don’t wanna end up in a tree or crash onto concrete!
It’s not exactly the same, but it does help a lot. I flew my Avata 2 in manual mode before I even tried Liftoff, and let’s just say I got lucky. After putting in 8-10 hours on the sim, I went back to the real thing and felt way more confident. Started doing flips and navigating obstacles without issues. But yeah, you’ll always be more careful when it’s for real.
The main point of a sim is just to get used to the controls, don’t stress too much about how realistic it feels. If you haven’t yet, you should give Uncrashed FPV sim a shot too.

What’s the difference with Uncrashed? I feel ready to try manual mode for real, but my biggest worry is how different the rates might be from the sim to my Neo or Avata 2. Just don’t wanna crash right away. I think I should be fine though. Gonna test it out tomorrow.
