As the title says, the video and picture quality on my Mavic 2 PRO is absolute terrible.
I’ve had the drone since 2018 now and only flown it a couple of times when I went on vacation. Always had a 1080p laptop screen so it didn’t really click with me that it is actually the footage that is terrible.
I get that it’s showing it’s age but I am very dissapointed that a (then) €1800 drone can not even give me sharp images.
As you can see in the photo’s. Slide 1 is fullscreen no color grading and not rendered 2.7k quality. and Slide 2 is fullscreen color grade and rendered. Both screenshots are taken from my 1440p monitor and it looks exactly like how it looks on my screen.
How can 1440p in videos or games be so sharp, but my footage be so grainy?
Anyone that can help me out or explain how to fix this?
Yeah, the whole screen looks like that. I’ve crashed the drone twice over the past 7 years… could that have messed up the autofocus inside the camera? Or is that not really how it works?

If you try to manually focus on something like 5 feet away and then something far like 200 feet, does it actually adjust?
Just gave it a try. It’s almost 1AM right now, so I did it inside—drone was just sitting on my desk. It does make a little noise like it’s trying to focus, and the screen zooms out slightly. When I hold my hand up in front of it, it recognizes and focuses on it. Hard to say if it sharpens the image though since the lighting is pretty bad in here.
@Carter
Take a look at the controller or the screen—does it ever actually lock into focus properly or does it just keep hunting? After a crash, autofocus issues wouldn’t really be surprising.
