Mini 3, Neo, or 4K? Which drone fits my needs?

I’m new to drones and looking for something to mess around with. I don’t plan on doing serious photography or videography. I might capture some school events (I work at a school), like a parade or football game, and use it for fun stuff like flying around when I’m out mountain biking or with my kid.

The Neo seems great with tracking and free roam features, and it’s compact enough for my backpack. But the Mini 3 or 4K has better flight time, stability, and wind resistance.

What do you all think? Which one would be the most fun for my type of use?

Go for the Mini 4K. It’s beginner-friendly, has a great camera, and is easy to carry around.

Just get an Inspire 3 with the Zenmuse X7. Problem solved.

Sure, if you’re buying it for me, I’ll start calling you daddy. :joy:

I started with a Mini 2 SE but quickly upgraded to a Mini 4 Pro, and it’s awesome. If you ever want to film events, you’ll appreciate having a gimbal for smooth shots. The smart tracking features are fun too, and I think the Mini 3 has those. The Neo looks cool, but it’s limited compared to what you can do with the Minis—they’re small but powerful.

I have both the Neo and the 4K, and honestly, the Neo’s video quality is surprisingly better than the 4K. It handles bright light and overexposure much better, and it’s not bad in low light either.

If you want a more advanced drone, go with the Mini 3 or higher (the 4 Pro is top-tier). But if you’re on a budget, the Neo still delivers good video and photos.

Yeah, I’m leaning toward the Neo. It seems perfect for my first drone, especially with the tracking feature for biking and general exploring. Plus, it’s cheaper, so if I like it, I can always upgrade later. My only concern is the short flight time—how long does it really last?

@Corbin
Neo is a solid choice for a first drone. Pair it with the RC, and you’ll enjoy flying it. Plus, it’s tough enough to handle some rough use.

That’s what I’m thinking. I don’t want to spend too much since I’m not sure how often I’ll use it. If it just ends up sitting in the closet, I’d rather it be a cheaper option. Might use it to record some of my kid’s soccer games too!
