I just got my hands on the Mini 4 Pro and wanted to share my initial thoughts and hear what others think about it.
Wow, the low light performance seems much better than my Air 2!
Great job! That transition is really smooth.
I wasn’t sure about the legalities of flying in certain areas.

I’m not breaking any laws or doing anything wrong.

I checked on the DJI Fly app, and most of downtown Vancouver is close to an airport. It’s best to avoid flying there for safety reasons.
@Zed
Yeah, Robson Square is about 800 meters from an airport.

Finally, someone confirms it.
@Zed
If you stay under 100 feet, you should be fine.

Flying in Class F airspace isn’t allowed, regardless of altitude. It’s illegal to fly there.

According to the Transport Canada NAV Drone app, micro drones like the Mini 4 Pro are fine to fly with caution.
@Noor
Here’s a link explaining the regulations:
'Drones are considered aircraft under the Aeronautics Act and Canadian Aviation Regulations. They are restricted in these zones without authorization:
- Class F Special Use Restricted Airspace
- Near forest fires
- In areas with NOTAM restrictions for forest fire aircraft
Understanding the rules before flying is crucial. Micro drones still have restrictions. Check out the official site:
@Zed
The zones I’m referring to aren’t Class F, and the official app shows a caution warning, not a restriction for micro drones.

Check this tool: https://nrc.canada.ca/en/drone-tool/
@Zed
Montreal YUL:
Micro drone operations are allowed, but extra caution is advised near airports.
You need to select ‘Micro drone’ as it defaults to ‘Basic.’
@Zed
The Mini 4 is classified as a ‘micro drone’ in Canada. Micro drones are permitted in Class F airspace with caution. Check this tool and select ‘Micro’ under ‘Category of Operation.’

Zoom in on an airport.
@Zed
Done it many times. Micro drones are legal. Here’s a screenshot of Vancouver:
It advises caution due to aircraft traffic but doesn’t restrict micro drones.
@Sage
Wow, that clears up a lot. Thanks for explaining!
Amazing shot! What ND filter did you use for this?
