Hey everyone,
I’m looking to buy my very first drone and don’t want to spend too much. I was originally checking out the Mini 4 Pro, but now I’m thinking maybe the Mini 4K or the Mini 3 might be enough?
Which one would you recommend?

What are you planning to use it for?

Oh sorry, yeah—I want to use it to spot fish on lakes because I’m into fishing, and also just for fun flying and taking cool photos or videos.
@Nyle
In that case, the Mini 4K should be fine as long as you’re careful around trees and buildings since it doesn’t have obstacle avoidance.

Just a heads-up—make sure you check the rules in your area. In some US states, using drones for fishing or hunting is illegal. There might also be limits in parks and other places.
Better to check first than risk a fine.
@Wolf
Got it—I’m in Germany and it’s not an issue here. I’m just using it to spot fish and then cast my rod to that area.
The Mini 3 is a solid choice for beginners. It’s a great way to test the waters without breaking the bank. You can always use the savings on extra batteries or a carrying case.
I’d go with the Mini 3 too—it’s got a better camera than the 4K and takes higher-res photos, which is super handy if you need to zoom in later.
And just a note: flying too low over water can mess with a drone’s sensors depending on the lighting and surface. Having a drone that lets you fly a bit higher while still getting clear shots could really help.
Is there a big difference in the cameras?
