This is why I stick to manual mode with the FPV remote. If I need to adjust settings, I do it at a safe altitude—usually 50 meters or higher—or before takeoff.
Is manual mode harder compared to stabilized mode? And does the motion controller support manual, or do I need another controller for that?
@Bright
If you’re new to manual mode, get a simulator like Liftoff to practice. I put in about 25 hours on Liftoff before flying my Avata 2 in manual mode, and it made a huge difference. It’s safer to practice in a sim before risking your actual drone.
@Daryl
That’s great advice, but I barely have time for hobbies between work, family, and gaming. I feel like I’d struggle to balance learning FPV. I might just stick to a stabilized drone like the Flip.

Sounds like FPV might not be for you, and that’s okay. Stick with what works for your lifestyle!
Thanks! I love watching FPV videos, but I get motion sickness sometimes, and I live in a restricted area near an airport. Stabilized drones feel like the safer and better option for me.
@Bright
Flying in manual mode with the Neo isn’t cheap if you want all the accessories. By the time you add the goggles, motion controller, and everything else, it’s almost as expensive as some higher-end drones.
@Dru
Yeah, in my country, the Neo costs $620 for the motion combo. By the time you add other accessories, it gets really expensive compared to other options like the Flip.
