Need to use Care Refresh... what should I expect?

My drone crashed on the banks of the Delaware River and has been sitting in mud exposed to water and salt for several days. I’m concerned that if I send it in for a refresh, they might clean it up, replace some electronics, and reuse whatever they can. This could potentially lead to problems down the line.

I’ve had a DJI drone short circuit and just drop from the sky before (my Air 2S), and that happened after the Care Refresh expired. I really don’t want that to occur again.

Do you think it’s okay to send it in as it is, or should I try to make it clear that it’s beyond repair and needs a complete replacement, if you catch my drift?

They’ll just send you a brand-new drone.

They’ll either send you a new one or a properly refurbished unit. If your Air 2S had a battery issue, that’s not uncommon—it can happen with any model or brand.

It’s more cost-effective for them to just replace it. Every drone I’ve sent back under Care Refresh was swapped for a brand-new one.

You should definitely send it in. If the issue is serious, they’ll either give you a new one or a fully refurbished replacement.

I used Care Refresh on my Mini 3, and I got a brand-new drone in just three days. Plus, I still have one more replacement left before my coverage expires.

Just a heads-up—they’re not shipping replacements to the US right now. If you send yours in, the replacement might get stuck in customs.

They do have some stock in the US for now, so it should be fine.
