New Desktop Camera or What?

It’s a lidar sensor. I’m guessing it’ll be used on the Osmo 7 gimbal to help with object and people tracking instead of relying on the phone or app.

The lidar sensor is only on the 7 Pro Gimbal, based on leaked box shots. It’s a cool concept, but it still requires an app to record, so not sure how much of an improvement it’ll really be.

It does look like it’s attached to a mobile phone, so you’re probably right. A new Osmo 7 gimbal with a lidar sensor seems like a good idea, and hopefully it’ll work with non-DJI setups too!

@Brenner
There will be two new models: OM7 and OM7 Pro.

I hope it comes to the Mini 5 Pro too!

@Whitney
The LiDAR range won’t reach that far. It’s meant for the gimbal.

Hmm, but how exactly is LiDAR useful for a gimbal?

Tariff sensor.

Did anyone notice the button on the right side? It’s attached to the new iPhone via the camera button, so it must be some kind of LiDAR system.

It looks like a phone attachment for those who use a gimbal with their phone.

It looks like a coldshoe-mounted focus aid for cameras.

A big competitor of theirs sells something similar that attaches to your phone to track subjects while using a gimbal. Check it out: [link]

Just release the Mavic 4 already…

Basically, it’s DJI’s version of the Hohem iSteady M7 AI tracker and light.

RC track beacon.
