O4 Pro and O4 Air Units are here!

I’m new to drones and want to use my DJI N3 Goggles with a TinyWhoop. Is the O4 Air Unit the one I need, or is there a lite version for that?

The O4 Air Unit can definitely be used on a TinyWhoop—it’s super lightweight at just 8 grams! The O4 Pro is more for bigger drones.

@Adair
Thanks! I heard some people calling it the O4 Lite before launch, so I wasn’t sure if it was the same thing.

What makes the Pro version better?

The Pro has a better camera sensor with a wider field of view and higher ISO range. It also has an SD card slot, while the Air Unit only has 23GB of onboard storage.

The Pro also seems to have two antennas, compared to one on the base version.

Can you actually buy a frame like the one in the image, or is it just a render?

Unfortunately, it’s just a render.

I already bought the O4 Air Unit and an 80mm TinyWhoop. RIP to my bank account…

Why didn’t they release the weight and power consumption specs?

Where do the batteries go on these?

The images are just representations of how the Air Unit mounts. They’re not actual drones.

The Air Units are powered through the flight controller.

That’s wild. What kind of range can you get?

You’ll need 7-14V to power it.

Nice to see the lite version still supports 100Hz. I was worried they’d limit it to 60Hz like they did with the Goggles N3.

How much would it cost to build a CineWhoop with the O4 Air Unit if I already have the goggles and controller?

Here’s a breakdown:

  • AIO Flight Controller: Mamba MK5 G4 Alpha ~ $50
  • Frame: GEPRC Cinelog CL35 V2 ~ $30
  • Battery: 4S-6S ~ $35-$50
  • Motors: GEPRC SpeedX2 1804 Motors (x4) ~ $60-$70
  • Props: $5-$10

Total: Around $190, excluding the O4 Unit.

@Adair
How do you keep the total weight under 249g with all that? I don’t want a drone that only flies for 5-7 minutes.
