So I found an Osmo Action 5 for a great price and I was wondering if it was really better than the Action 4? For context, this will be my first action camera and will mostly be used for mountain biking and skiing. I am planning on using ND filters and tinkering with the settings. So is it worth it?
I had the Action 4 and recently got the Action 5 Pro and I didn’t notice much difference. If the difference in price isn’t much, go for the 5 Pro. But if you’re on a tight budget, the 4 is also a great camera.

Hmm, thanks! I’m still saving for it, but I think the Action 5 is slightly better, especially in low light. Thanks!
Can’t go wrong with either. My Action 4 has been a real trooper while skiing. The A5 has the advantage in low light, and from what I’ve seen, a slight color advantage when it comes to skin tones and such. Most people couldn’t tell which is which during the day.
I have both and use them for different tasks. Honestly, I see no difference between the two for the most part. I absolutely love the better battery that comes with the OA5Pro, but those batteries will also work in the 4, so it’s nice that it comes with the 5 Pro.
If you’re using the mic 2 or mic mini, or plan to, then I would definitely go with the 5 Pro camera. The connection between the camera and mic is much faster and more stable in the OA 5 Pro.
