I’ve watched plenty of YouTube reviews, but I haven’t seen much discussion here, so I’m hoping to get some opinions from actual users. What are the pros and cons in your experience? How does it perform for different use cases?
I’m planning to use it mainly for vacation vlogs, restaurant reviews, and filming home cooking videos.
I use the Osmo Pocket 3 for work, mainly filming vehicles and action shots. The camera is reliable and starts up instantly. The tracking features are solid, and the gimbal keeps footage stable even in rough conditions. Vertical and horizontal shooting modes are useful, and battery life is good.
I also use a Neewer CM28 microphone setup for better audio, which plugs right into the USB-C port. It works great for recording interviews or audio from a distance.
The quality is amazing for vlogging, but the gimbal can be tricky to get used to. The biggest downside is that you have to manually adjust the gimbal sometimes, which can be a hassle when you want to quickly shift focus.
Also, the battery isn’t interchangeable, so you’ll need a power bank for longer shoots. It does charge quickly, though.
Great camera overall, but it’s not as sturdy as an action cam. I hesitate to take it traveling sometimes.
Love the Osmo Pocket 3. It’s compact, starts up instantly, and the built-in gimbal does an excellent job with stabilization. It takes some time to get used to panning with the gimbal, but once you do, it’s smooth sailing.
The downside for me is that there’s no physical zoom button. You have to use the joystick for everything. It’s also not waterproof, so if you’re planning beach trips, keep that in mind.
Fantastic camera, but I have two gripes: no dedicated iPad app (the app runs but doesn’t scale up), and you have to remove filters before stowing the gimbal. Other than that, I love it.
Great for quick, on-the-go videos. Almost as easy as shooting with a smartphone. Downsides are that it’s not weather-sealed or rugged, and you can’t shoot 4K vertical video unless the camera is in the vertical position.
