While some individuals have had positive encounters with DJI and their warranty services, unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. After experiencing an issue with my DJI drone, I engaged in a prolonged exchange with their support team, which lasted for a week and a half. Despite providing detailed explanations of the incident—where my drone unexpectedly flipped over during landing and subsequently crashed—I was informed that the damages were not covered under warranty. To add to my frustration, I received a repair quote totaling $285.00 USD. Considering the cost of repairs versus the value of the drone, which I could replace with a new Mini 3 model for just $300.00 Canadian dollars during a sale, the repair proved to be financially impractical. As a result, I’m hesitant to invest in another DJI drone in the future.

The DJI Care flyaway insurance is an option that appears when you activate the drone. If you choose not to purchase it, you will have, I believe, 48 hours from the time of activation to do so. To activate the warranty, you will need to transmit video evidence that the drone is in excellent operating order. That would make sense to me. The program is excellent and well worth the investment, and interacting with DJI Customer Service is a delightful experience. In addition, if there are any manufacturing defects, they should replace the drone within 15 days of your purchase date if you don’t get insurance.
