Range Extender or something?

Last week I saw a DJI ad online promoting what looked like a range extender or something. I didn’t look much into it because I figured I’d be able to find it again easily when I had time.
Now I can’t find it anywhere.
I do remember that it had some kind of black rubber strap used to secure it to the aircraft.

Any idea what I’m talking about?

You mean a 4G dongle?

@Mason
Hmm yeah, I think maybe that’s it. Time for me to dive into learning about that thing. Thank you.

FYI, these don’t work in the US. If you find something different, let me know.

@Peyton
These only work with a SIM card with data, and depending on your setup and country, you might need 2 dongles. One mounts on your drone and the other goes on your remote. Both plug into the USB-C port. Where I live :canada:, they are quite common, but using cellular data is also cheap here. Some countries won’t sell them because it allows you to fly beyond visual line of sight. We just use them for fail-safe reception. I think I saw them while I was back home in Canada, so I would assume that the USA can get them too, but data costs are pricey in North America. Check Aliexpress, I’m sure they have them.

@Mason
My understanding is that you can get them (many on eBay), but if you’re in the US, they can’t connect to a cell network. Cellular control would be awesome, so I’d love to be proven wrong about this.

@Peyton
Well that’s a bummer. I’m sure law enforcement uses the dongles. I’ve never brought my drones back home to North America to try, but the dongles do work well over here :canada:. I’m curious to try it. I got my iPhone in :canada: and it works fine in the US or anywhere in the world for that matter. All I do is switch out the SIM. Same with my iPad; I just get a SIM with a data plan for the iPad.
