Took my Air 3 out on Saturday — first flight of the year, and also the first time since I added reflective red tape to it. Since it’s nesting season, I tried to avoid any spots where birds might be nesting. Still, during one flight, a swallow started giving warning calls. As soon as I heard that, I returned to home and moved on.
There’s no solid proof it helped, but I think the reflective tape made a difference. When this happened to me before with my old Mini 2, the bird came really close — maybe within half a meter. But this time, the swallow kept at least a couple of meters away. I felt way more comfortable flying it back.
Could’ve just been the type of bird or how aggressive they are, not sure. But it did seem like the tape helped a bit.
