I just got a second hand Mini 3 Pro and the propellers are in these conditions. I did a couple test flights and all seems fine. Am I at risk though?
Yeah probably but look to replace them anyways. No reason to risk it. Props are cheap.
Everyone has their own opinion. I don’t know why you wouldn’t replace them, but do what you want and live with the consequences.
Well, try to fly up 1-2 meters and see what happens. You can do this at home. I’ve tried it many times when something wasn’t working well to check if I can fly or not.
Just replace it. It might look fine, but it’s probably half a gram to a gram out of balance now.
I personally wouldn’t risk it. Props are pretty cheap compared to losing the whole drone.
It’ll be fine, but in my experience, it makes the drone less stable when standing still. Probably easier to just replace.
Scratches are ok, but if the leading edge of the propellers has nicks like missing plastic, that could cause vibrations. The RPMs the propellers rotate at are quite high, and those vibrations will reduce the quality of your footage and also cause quicker wear to the motor bearings. Props are quite cheap, and if you change them, be careful to put them on correctly or your drone won’t be able to get off the ground.
They are so incredibly cheap, why would you risk it?
Safe, probably. Replace? Probably. When they’ve had enough impacts, the plastic can start to develop weaknesses. Better to be preventative than have the drone fall out of the sky.
You’re good.
