I’m looking at getting my first drone and came across a good deal. But with the Mini 5 Pro just around the corner, I’m not sure if I should wait for that instead. What do you all think?
Come on, can we stop going on and on about the Mini 5 already? Nobody actually knows anything real about it yet.

Relax, man.
Have you ever flown a drone before?

Then I’d say start with something cheaper. Flying isn’t super hard, but it takes a bit of practice. Better to learn on a less expensive drone first to see if you even enjoy it.

The Air 2S is a good option for beginners and still gives you solid features. You can try mapping with Dronelink, and it comes with a 1-inch sensor. The Mini 5 might sound tempting, but for a first-timer, this one’s good enough. The newer model will probably just have better sensors and longer range, which you might not even notice at first.
Make sure to check how many times the batteries have been charged. I once got some official DJI ones that were labeled ‘refurbished’ — turns out they were barely used. Paid about $35–$40 each. That deal’s probably gone now, and the new ones cost over $90 each plus tax and shipping. Might end up spending $300 on batteries alone. Personally, I’d choose an Air model over a Mini. They offer most of what the top drones do but at a much better price.
@Aeron
Alright thank you
Mini 4 Pro is a solid choice. No need to wait for the Mini 5 if you ask me.
If you’re on a budget, maybe even look at a Mini 3 with the RC — it’ll cost way less than an opened Air 2S that’s not really ‘new’ once the bag’s off.
