I just tried the new sim on my DJI RC2 and itâs awesome. Really hoping they bring in support for the Avata 2 or the Neo as well!
Thatâs so cool! They really need to make a proper FPV sim. I hate having to plug my controller into the computer every time.

You canât loosen the gimbals on the RC2, so using it for FPV sim stuff doesnât really work.
@Corey
Hey fellow Slovenian! You can still fly FPV with a centered throttle, I do it all the time.

Thatâs just not a good idea unless youâre doing 3D flying.

Wait⌠you mean like flying in acro mode?
@Zephyr
No, I mean actual 3D mode. Like where the center stick is 0% throttle and you can go both forward and reverse thrust.

Alright. I donât get why thatâs such a problem though if youâre already used to the sticks. Iâve flown Air Units, O3, O4 on separate FPV builds. All 3D-style setups. Iâm not sure whatâs so risky about it.
@Zephyr
Because youâre cutting your stick resolution in half⌠and if youâre not flying upside-down and reversing thrust, itâs not really 3D mode.

I get that, but either way you still have to move the stick all the way down for zero throttle, even with the springs. Maybe weâre just misunderstanding each other.
Does it run directly from the RC or does it need the drone connected? I remember the Spark needed the drone plugged in.

It runs through the app so you just need the controller. No drone connection required.
I donât get why they took this feature out before. The Phantom 3 used to have a sim and it really helped with getting the feel for controls before flying for real. Wasnât super advanced but it helped big time.
Neat feature. But honestly, flying for the first time isnât that hardâunless you try doing it in your living room or tiny backyard.
