Temu is a scam?

So I won Fishland today, and one of the prizes was supposed to be a drone. Instead, they gave me a $3.99 credit… anyone else had this happen?

Wow, they really did you dirty! One of my items was out of stock (a plushie), and they gave me like $8 in credit for it.

Not bad for a plushie, but only $4 for a drone? Seriously?

@Ripley
Right? That’s crazy. I thought $8 was fair for the plushie, but $4 for a drone is a ripoff!

Turns out it was just the landing gear, not even the whole drone. I called customer service and asked for a real drone this time. Guess I should’ve just taken the $10 credit they offered.

I’ve been trying to win for months, always get close to winning the prize, then suddenly all my invites disappear. Seems like a scam to me too.

What do you mean by losing your invites? Did you lose people from your friend list? If so, they might have won their games already. Try inviting new people to keep it going.

That really sucks, sorry you went through that.

Thanks. Just goes to show, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. There’s always a catch.

Just trying to keep it real for you all.

What’s your name?

TONY. What’s yours?

Oh no, I have a drone on my list too. If it’s out of stock, they’ll probably try to replace it with something cheap. Usually, they give something good first, then something random after.

I was at work and didn’t have time to keep dealing with customer service. They offered me $5, I said no, then they offered $10, and I still declined.

@Ripley
I bet customer service is thinking, ‘Maybe if we offer less, they’ll take it!’

Exactly! It was pretty insulting, honestly. I’ve put in money and time, and they pull this bait-and-switch nonsense.

@Ripley
They used to just give you loads of stuff, now it’s all excuses and third-party vendor issues. They definitely hooked us and now it’s all cheap deals.

Yep, total bait-and-switch. Told customer service that too.

They told me it was out of stock and to pick something comparable to $3.99. I reached out to customer service, and they confirmed. I told them they don’t even have drones that cheap. The lowest is around $20.

@Ripley
Congrats on reaching the end! We swapped codes a few days ago. $3.99 is a slap in the face. Keep on customer service, ask for a supervisor. They have more power to give you a fair amount. Now that you’ve reached the end, I’m curious—does the $30 or $40 credit work on any amount, or is it only for orders over a certain price? Temu always has strings attached.
