Personally, not loving that there’s no padding between the RC, the aircraft and the outside of the case. But it’s not me living with it. If it works for you, it works for you.

Tbf I have an Apache 1800 (same size) and I just tested this with my mini 3 (Rc-1 and mini 3 had to remove gimbal protector) and it worked and was quite snug, no rattle. Granted I didn’t half of the top foam out but the controller kind of gets wedged in.

I worried about this too but because of the foam closer to the middle neither the drone nor controller can budge even a fraction of a mm. There’s adequate standoff between the wall and the item.
Love the tan Pelican cases. Curious if the remote can fit vertically and get you some foam around the edges?

It can’t, not in an 1170 anyway. This is about the only feasible arrangement for these items.

A lot of people make a lot of cases that look like Pelicans. It’s a conversation I’ve had with one of my clients’ lazy-ass equipment managers about a dozen times over the years.

That’s fair, HF has it for $13 but only in black.
This is a great setup. I have something similar with my DJI Neo.
Hi how much is it and where to get it? Is not this one better as you can carry 2 batteries outside and the charger too in case you are going on a family trip? Or in case you wanted to charge 1 battery with the charger as it does charge other external stuff like phone or even controller even when not connected.
I found some cases on AliExpress not original but you can fit everything inside, just ordered not yet arrived so cannot confirm on the quality, well at least it’s cheap 
but this variant also interests me, wonder what’s the price and where to get it.

If you look up Pelican 1170 on Amazon etc. you’ll find it in various colors all the same size.
That DJI sticker kinda gives it away for someone looking for some loot.
