When air is heated, it absorbs energy, causing the air directly above a fire to decrease in density. With reduced air density, there is less resistance on the blades, allowing them to rise more easily.
This is also the reason why certain helicopters aren’t allowed to fly very high, particularly near mountains. Because of the low air density, the blade is unable to move enough air to provide lift.
