I just moved to Germany and I’ve been thinking about buying a DJI Neo. I’ve never owned a drone before, but it’s something I’ve wanted to try for a while. After reading about Germany’s drone rules, it feels like I’d only be able to fly it in some empty field since there are so many restricted areas like nature reserves. Welcome to Germany! Flying drones here can be a bit tricky because of all the rules. Honestly, it’s not the easiest place to pick up drone flying as a hobby, but it’s not impossible either. Germany loves its rules!
You’ll need to register as a drone pilot with the German aviation authority and stick a flight ID label on your drone. The good news is, for drones like the DJI Neo (which fall under C0 classification), you don’t need a pilot’s license. Makes things a bit easier!
I think there might be local rules too depending on where you live. You might even need extra permits for certain areas. Good luck with it though—Germany is stunning, and drone footage here could be amazing!
