I’m heading to the south of France next year, and my holiday home is in the area shown on the B4UFLY map. It’s really in the middle of nowhere, so I was excited to fly my first drone (DJI Mini 4 Pro, under 250g). But now I’m worried about the restrictions. Any ideas on where to start with all the rules?
Thanks for that! Based on what you said, I don’t think I’ll fly there. I also read about someone who got arrested for flying when they thought they were following all the rules… definitely makes me think twice!
There’s plenty of open space to fly in Ukraine, if you’re looking for alternatives.
Those are just enhanced warning zones due to the local infrastructure. As long as you accept the warning in the app, you’ll be fine flying there. If you’re not from Europe, just make sure to register your drone on the AlphaTango site. I live about an hour away from you in Provence, so I’m speaking from experience.
@Eli
But if I take off in a no-fly zone, won’t I get in trouble? It seemed more like an instruction not to fly, not just a warning.
That’s the cool part! You won’t get into trouble as long as you accept the warning in the app.
