Trying to pick my first drone… any tips?

Hey everyone,

I’m totally new to owning or flying drones but I’m a photographer and want to get one to help with work. I’ve been looking at the DJI Mini 3, Mini 4, and the Mini 4K. I’d like something that’s not too expensive but still takes good videos — and most of all, something beginner friendly.

Out of those, go for the Mini 4 Pro. And honestly, there are loads of posts asking the same thing — browsing around a bit can help too.

The Mini 4 Pro is a solid pick. It takes great photos and has a lot of helpful features.

Just a heads-up: if you’re planning to use it for anything beyond fun, you might need a drone license (like part 107 in the US). Also, depending on the battery you use, you might need to register it if it goes over the weight limit.

Better to double check your local rules just to stay safe.

Thanks! That’s really helpful. I’m in Europe so I’ll need to look into the laws here. I’ve also got the chance to buy the Mini 4 Pro Fly More kit for €840 — do you think that’s worth it?

Honestly yeah — if you can swing the extra cost, the Fly More kit is usually the smarter buy.

I’d say yes. That’s exactly what I got, I’m in the US by the way.
