Instead of focusing on funding the government, the GOP is prioritizing something so ridiculous. National security? Please, it is just another baseless alarmist claim. The GOP is trying to make Americans fear China.

They are really not our friend, you know?

Thatis absurd, considering we have been outsourcing all our manufacturing to them for decades, acting as though they’re our allies.

Wall Street genuinely doesn’t care whether China is a friend of the US or not. As long as profits rise this quarter, that’s all that matters.

Initially, the belief was that a wealthier China would naturally become more democratic. That was the prevailing wisdom at the time, conveniently offering the US and its leaders a moral justification for exploiting cheaper labor at the expense of the American working and middle classes. Instead, many US cities suffered from the collapse of manufacturing, while China grew more authoritarian and emboldened.

Despite decades of failure to understand global politics and economics, Wall Street still plays a massive role in shaping our lives and economy now more than ever.

China’s leaders aren’t our friends. Leaders are not the entire country.

The people of China share many of the same issues faced by people in the US. We have more in common simply because we are human.

Ohh yes, we are in Anyway total agreement. People just want to live their lives and basically be left alone. But we have a tiny percentage of people making decisions that affect billions in Call the case of China and hundreds of millions in the case of America. anyway

I won’t get more political or write about fascist-religion on this thread.

Yeah, I have heard about it. Just the government doing what they always do, nothing.

Has anyone else heard about this? It showed up in my Google News feed but I haven’t seen any other outlets covering it yet?

This has been in the news for months. The Senate dropped the DJI ban from their version of the NDAA, so now everyone is just waiting on the reconciliation process. There’s a lot of uncertainty about what this will mean for the industry or how it will impact the drones already in use.

Oh, got it. I thought this was something new. I was keeping up with the NDAA situation and assumed this might have been unrelated.

I’m pretty sure this is just a continuation of the same issue. There are a couple of representatives who keep pushing this bill wherever they can.

This is a new development. The House voted and it passed

Did they vote it again even though Senate removed it? What would the point of it.

This is a common process between the House and Senate.

A bill with “A” language gets submitted,
The bill gets rejected because the majority disagrees with something,
The bill gets revised to “A.1” language,
The bill is voted on again.

We all knew it would go through multiple revisions and will probably pass eventually. According to this article, the vote on this version happened today.

The key factor will be whether the Senate agrees to pass it with the DJI ban included or not.

The first version had a lot of stuff in it indirectly relating to DJI that the Senate didn’t like. Sounds like most if not all of that was pulled. This has a chance of passing now
