Well well well... Skydio spying now? #Irony

This is hilarious :joy:

And here I thought DJI was the ‘bad guy’:clown_face:

Let’s be real, they probably all spy in some way, no matter where they’re made.

Adam Bry is a scumbag. Not even remotely surprised.

Skydio is basically malware.

Screw Skydio.

Aside from their shady CEO, they’re a decade behind DJI in pro/event drones—let alone consumer models.

I hate Skydio too, but that argument doesn’t really hold. They don’t even make cinema or consumer drones.

Skydio aside, these kinds of devices should be illegal. I got one from Dell years ago promoting their new servers. A decent lithium battery and a screen—just to end up in the trash.

ShOcKiNg

Who would’ve thought their whole argument was just projection?

It all comes down to clueless lawmakers trying to ban DJI under the ‘American data privacy’ excuse. Meanwhile, TikTok literally sends data to China every second of every day, and nothing happens.

That’s what happens when you try to throw dirt at others—it always blows back in your face. :joy: Thanks for sharing!

Adam Bry and Michael Robbins of AUVSI—what a duo.

Oh, the irony.

Didn’t the FCC say SIM cards in drones would overload the cell network? I thought that was BS, but this kinda proves it.

What does that have to do with this? This story isn’t even about SIM cards in drones.

Wait… Skydio is spying on American police? Might have to consider getting one now.

Kinda hilarious, considering how much China gets accused of spying.

Yeah, but also wild that I’m getting downvoted just for being interested in tech that could give insight into civic infrastructure I help fund.

DJI makes amazing drones, but the politics here are insane—especially with how close the U.S. is to banning all of this.

@Sullivan
Buying a Skydio won’t get you access to your local police. You’re getting downvoted because your comment makes no sense and doesn’t add to the discussion.

Also, Skydio isn’t even the one collecting the data—it’s the marketing company that made the mailer.

But let’s say you’re right—are you really gonna spend thousands on a second-rate drone just to find out how long a cop looked at a promo video? That’s literally all the data you’d get from this.
