What are some options for the most affordable thermal drones?

I’ve got a thermal camera that’s pretty decent for around $400 – it works like a charm. Check it out here: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1691270-REG/infiray_dp09_thermal_imaging_infrared.html

And I’ve seen Autel quadcopters with all the bells and whistles for about $1000: https://www.amazon.com/Autel-Robotics-Nano-Premium-Bundle/dp/B09LYSRCHC/

But why does it feel like every thermal drone I come across costs a whopping $7000 and up, with fancy 640 pixel class thermal cameras?

I’m not out here trying to measure the temperature of individual solar cells from a mile away – I just need something to spot people, animals, or cars at night. Anybody know of any reasonably priced (under $2500) thermal drones out there?

  1. DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual

One option to consider is the DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual. It’s equipped with a thermal camera and comes in at under $2500. Plus, it’s from a reputable brand like DJI, so you know you’re getting quality.

  1. FLIR Duo Pro R Thermal Camera

Another option is the FLIR Duo Pro R Thermal Camera, which can be paired with a compatible drone like the DJI Matrice 200 series. This setup gives you thermal imaging capabilities at a more affordable price point compared to some of the higher-end thermal drones on the market.

Consider Autel EVO II Dual 640T Enterprise:
