What are these drones flying over New Jersey at night?

Hi everyone, has anyone else noticed these drones flying over parts of New Jersey at night? There have been several sightings in the past few nights, and people are really concerned. The authorities either don’t know or are not sharing any information about them.

These drones seem to be larger than the usual commercial ones and are reported to handle strong winds pretty well. They only appear at night, which adds to the mystery. Does anyone know what these could be or have any ideas?

Thanks for reading!

If the authorities don’t know, I doubt anyone on this forum will either.

Why do people seem fine with planes flying overhead but panic at the thought of drones? Also, judging the size and height of something at night can be pretty unreliable.

Do you think it could be something like this?

Agreed, especially with the difficulty of estimating at night.

It might be something from a large manufacturer, like Boeing or a similar company.

Why doesn’t someone use a drone to get a closer look and find out?

I think the authorities know more than they’re letting on.

That’s my thought too. The FAA likely knows who launched it, what it is, and where it landed, similar to how they tracked that balloon from China. But they probably don’t see a reason to share this information with the public.
