@AirframeAce2 You’ll need the TRUST certificate, which is free. If your drone is over 250 grams, you also need to register it and ensure it has remote ID. For recreational flying, that’s all you need. If you’re flying for work or other non-recreational reasons, you’ll need to pass the Part 107 test, register, and ensure remote ID no matter the weight.

If you’re recording events for an organization, you need the Part 107 certificate. If it’s just for fun, there’s a free test called TRUST. Drones over 250 grams also need to be registered.

Once you’ve got the TRUST and registered your drone, check this map to see where you want to fly and if it’s in controlled airspace. You’ll need to know which facility controls it and the altitude limit.
If the squares are green, request via a LAANC app. If they’re red, request through DroneZone. For recreational flying, you can’t fly higher than the number in the middle of the square.
