Another bad moment for a great hobby… seems like it’s just getting worse.
Why does this keep happening? They ruin it for everyone else. Hope they face some serious consequences.

This is exactly why customs are sending back drones like the Air 3. Too many careless people these days.
@Blaire
And this is also why whenever someone posts risky pictures, people call them out immediately.

Exactly. Folks post shots taken well over 1000 feet up, completely ignoring the rules. This isn’t just in the US—it’s everywhere.

Honestly, I think it’s only a matter of time before recreational drone flying becomes heavily restricted. Maybe 12-18 months at most. Responsible pilots are the ones who’ll lose out.
Why would anyone fly their drone that high at night, especially in a restricted area? That’s just crazy.

Probably doing it for the Instagram likes.

Let’s hope they were live-streaming, so the evidence is caught for authorities.

It’s insane how reckless some people are. Like, think it through first!

There’s a lead photo on a major news site taken in the same area. That’s probably why people are doing it.
@Maxwell
Yeah, I get why they’d want that shot, but I bet that photo was taken with proper precautions. These people just don’t seem to care.

I’ve heard the fire department is using drones for monitoring certain areas. But as soon as someone hears that, they think it’s okay to do it themselves without any training or permission.
This is why I think you shouldn’t be able to buy a drone without a license. People can’t be trusted to do the right thing.

It’s not just Americans; people everywhere act irresponsibly.
@Roan
Flying over active fires isn’t exactly a global hobby though, is it? Haha.

True, but I’ve seen people fly drones into volcanoes too. Dumb behavior isn’t exclusive to any country.

Even with a license, people still ignore rules. Look at how some folks drive—speeding, running lights, texting. A license doesn’t guarantee responsibility.
@Kim
But imagine how much worse it’d be without licenses for driving. They at least make a difference.
