What should I charge someone if I'm DJing for them?

Hey folks, I’ve been mixing in my room for a while and have done a few house parties for friends. Now a coworker and a family friend both want to book me to DJ their events. I feel good about my skills, but I’ve never charged for it before. What would be a fair hourly rate to ask for? I don’t want to come off too expensive but also don’t want to undercut myself. Appreciate any advice!

Think you might’ve landed in the wrong part of the forum buddy

You’re a little late to the party lol

@Val
Honestly that sounds like the name of a sketchy subreddit

Almost nailed it… just one letter off

If you’re charging for gigs, you might need your drone pilot license too… just kidding. License to ill though

Only if you’re spinning tracks mid-air over a crowd

Buddy… this is a drone forum. You want fries with that question?

Honestly this post made my day. Best mix-up I’ve seen here

Guess I’m a DJ now too. DJ Avata coming soon :headphones:

You need to collab with DJ Mavic for real

You should totally call yourself D.J. I

DJ I M Lost would be even better

You’re in the wrong place but try posting in the DJs forum instead

Classic Loch Ness Monster situation right there

Charge at least 20 bucks minimum

Check local DJs near you, undercut them by 20 percent, then use that money to buy a drone and promote your gigs

So yeah this is a drone forum not a DJ one, but rates I’ve seen go from 50 to 600 an hour. Depends what you bring like lights, speakers, fog machines
