What's the best drone for light shows?

Hey everyone! I’ve been seeing these drone light shows all over lately, and they look amazing. I’m curious about what drones they actually use for these shows. I know DJI makes popular drones, but it seems like a lot of these are from smaller companies? Has anyone here been to a light show or know which drones work best?

If you want the full list, Firefly, UVify, Verge Aero, and Lumenier are the main ones doing light shows right now. Each has its own perks.

What’s so special about UVify? Seems like I see their name pop up the most.

@Dakota
UVify is big because they have reliable drones that handle multiple shows and huge crowds. They actually partnered with Sky Elements for that massive 5,293-drone record show!

I’ve actually seen a Sky Elements show with UVify drones, and it was amazing. They even did a Star Wars-themed light show! Definitely the coolest thing I’ve seen.

Oh, that sounds incredible! Was it one of those big stadium events?

@Orion
Yeah, it was at the Oakland Coliseum. The whole setup was mind-blowing!

Sky Elements seems to put on a lot of themed shows. I’d love to see a light show in person!

Firefly has a drone called the Gen2 that’s really popular too. They make it super easy with software to design shows, so even smaller companies can create light shows.

Interesting! Do they sell these drones to just anyone?

@Raj
Yep, they do! The Firefly Gen2 is sold as part of a whole setup, so you get both the drones and software to create shows right out of the box.

Verge Aero is another company to check out. They have these drones with enhanced GPS, rain resistance, and longer battery life. I think they just launched a new model too!

That sounds great, especially with the rain resistance. Is Verge Aero based in the US?

@Jesse
Yep, they’re based in Dallas, Texas! Their drones are definitely designed for durability.

I heard Lumenier makes really bright drones for shows too. They have this model with extra-bright LEDs that’s six times brighter than other options.

That must be perfect for shows where you need high visibility. Do you know how long they stay up in the air?

@Chen
About 25 minutes, which is pretty solid for a light show. More than enough time for some cool effects.

For DIY fans, there’s actually a course by Drone Dojo that teaches you how to make your own light show drones. Pretty cool for those with some tech skills!

A DIY light show? That sounds complicated but fun. Do they give you all the parts in a kit or what?

@Willow
Yep, they recommend a kit called Pixhawk. The course covers the basics of building the drone and programming it for light shows.
