Hey, I want to buy a drone mainly for video recording. What would you recommend?
What exactly are you planning to use it for? Also, what’s your budget? Pro models have extras like Dlog recording, smart follow features, and obstacle avoidance. But depending on what you want to do, you might not need all those.
My first drone was the Mini 2 back in 2022. After crashing it (lol), I got the Mini 3 as a replacement and never looked back. I’d recommend the Mini 3.
All DJI drones are pretty beginner friendly. Your budget will really decide what you can get.
I started with the original Mini 2 in 2021 and still fly it today. It got renamed Mini 4k later on. Before the 2025 tariffs kicked in, you could find the Mini 4k in the US for around $250. Not sure what the price is now.
Maybe try buying a used drone first. The Mavic Air is a good starter with decent video quality and can be found for under $300.
