Which DJI drone should I buy?

I’m thinking about getting a DJI Mini 4 Pro. It has 4K at 100fps, a 48MP camera, and it’s under 250g so I don’t need a license. I don’t have a strict budget, but I’d like to keep it between $500 and $1,000. I’d be willing to spend more if it’s worth it. Mainly, I want to film shots of a single car from above, like a bird’s eye view from 20-30ft away or closer. What do you all suggest?

I’d say go for the Mini 4 Pro for your first drone.

Totally agree, don’t spend too much on your first one. You’ll probably crash it at some point—everyone does. Start with a cheaper option, learn the ropes, and you’ll have a new hobby that you can stick with for a long time.

Just a heads up, the 48MP on the Mini 4 is more of a marketing thing. Ducks from incoming comments

I’d choose the Mini 4 Pro.

Go with one of the Mini models. Staying under 250g means you can fly more often without worrying about rules, plus it’s easier to carry around.

I’d say go for the 3S.

Air 2S is great, 1-inch sensor and 5.4K resolution—best image quality out there.

I recommend the DJI Air 3S.

Honestly, get one of each!

The Inspire 3 is where it’s at.

I got the Mavic Mini first, but I ended up buying the Mini 4 Pro just a week later.

I’d go with that one.

Mini 4 Pro is the best choice for what you’re looking to do. Trust me, you won’t regret it. The only time you might wish for a bigger drone is during strong winds, but that’s pretty rare. And even then, a larger drone doesn’t add that much more. The Mini 4 Pro compares really well to the higher-end models for your needs.

Mavic 4 is my pick.

If you’re looking to slow down your footage by 2-3x, then 100fps makes sense. But for YouTube, 4K at 50 or 60fps should be enough—especially if it has HDR. It’s more about the sensor and lens quality than just megapixels. So I’d go with the Mini 4 Pro for its 4K/60 HDR and overall quality. Anything better is going to be heavier, like the Air 3S.

If it’s over 0.55 pounds, you just need to register it. You don’t need a license unless you’re using it for work.

Mini 4 Pro if you want to stay under 250g. Go for the Air 3 if registration isn’t a problem.

Mini 3 Pro refurbs are great deals right now.

I’d wait until the new Air 3S drops.
