Who here owns a Pocket 3... do you love it?

Every blogger seems to be using the Pocket 3 these days. How many of you have one, and do you think it’s worth the price?

I use my Pocket 3 exclusively for real estate videos. The gimbal is way better than iOS image stabilization. I just wish there was a z-axis dampener—then it’d be perfect.

Same here! Dude, Google ‘X-axis for Pocket 3’—there’s an accessory for it, and it’s fantastic.

I have both the original Osmo Pocket and the Pocket 3. The P3 has been a great upgrade. I use it three ways: solo with its native accessories, mounted on a 4th-axis gimbal for extra stability, or mounted on top of a still camera to capture both photo and video at the same time.

I have one, and yeah, it’s awesome! The video quality is top-notch.

I love mine! As a solo creator, it’s great to set up the OP3 on a tripod and fine-tune the framing from my phone. The built-in mic makes recording so much easier. It’s compact, has great image quality, and the battery lasts as long as I need it to. 9/10—only wish the auto-tracking was a bit less aggressive.

I have it and love it, but I’m kinda annoyed with the latest firmware update. The new 2x zoom is great, but it doesn’t work while recording, which is pointless. Also, the zoom only works in ‘Normal’ color mode, which makes no sense. My Sony A7 IV lets me zoom in any mode—why can’t this?

I have one and love it. The wireless mic integration is great, and the stabilization is better than my Hero9—especially for off-roading. We do a lot of that, and the gimbal reacts super fast to sudden bumps. It also allows for some really cool creative shots.

I was considering getting one, but from what I’ve seen, any new iPhone has the same capabilities or better.

Gotta disagree. I own both the Pocket 3 and an iPhone 16 Pro. The Pocket has a built-in gimbal, better tracking, a bigger sensor, and a wider FOV. The iPhone’s best sensor is its 24mm main lens, and it still doesn’t match the Pocket 3. The only area where the iPhone wins is multiple focal lengths.

@Lennon
100% agree. I traveled all last year and kept seeing people with Pocket 3s, thinking they were wasting money because I had my Mini 4 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Then in January, I finally bought a Pocket 3 before a trip to Mexico, and the larger sensor + AI tracking won me over. Plus, it doesn’t fill up my iCloud storage like my phone. The mic integration is also great, and I even use it as a webcam for my Mac mini—it’s way better than Center Stage.

An iPhone is more than enough for most people.

The Pocket 3 is built for creators. It offers way more than an iPhone.

I run a YouTube channel using just an iPhone, and I’ve passed 5 million subs. Plenty of others do the same. Flashy gear doesn’t equal more views. For most creators, the Mini 4 Pro is the most expensive drone they’ll ever need, and an iPhone is plenty for everything else.

@Brooke
By that logic, no one needs professional cameras anymore. Sure, everything can record video, but the Pocket 3 has better focal length, lens quality, and versatility. You can control it remotely, use ActiveTrack, shoot in different modes (9:16, 90/180°), get real-time audio with Mic 2, and work with Log and RAW formats. If you’re just doing casual social media, an iPhone is fine, but for serious creators, the Pocket 3 is worth it. There’s a reason so many vloggers use it!

@Charlie
Even some movies are shot on iPhones. For social media content, all you really need is:

  1. iPhone
  2. DJI Mini 4 Pro
  3. (Optional) Action camera
