Who's Got Tips on 3D Printed Drones?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been playing around with 3D printing and am thinking about making my own drone. Anyone here tried building a 3D printed drone? How’s it hold up in the air? Any tips or must-know info before I get started?

Looking forward to your insights!

Choose a durable filament for your drone parts. PLA (polylactic acid) is common for prototypes, but ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) or PETG (polyethylene terephthalate glycol-modified) offer better strength and heat resistance.

That sounds like an exciting project! Building a 3D-printed drone can be a rewarding experience although personally am not that creative to make myself a drone :grinning: :grinning: :grinning: :grinning:

In your project, make sure to choose motors and electronic speed controllers (ESCs) that match your drone’s size and weight. Common choices are 900Kv motors and 20A ESCs.
In addition, a good flight controller like the NAZA M Lite will help stabilize your drone. Finally, to power up your drone, you can use a 3-cell LiPo battery which is commonly used in various drones.

I wish you well in your project. And if it comes out successful, don’t forget to share with us the end results.
