Why did DJI Mimo switch to Chinese and ask me to share data…?

I tried to connect my phone to my DJI OP5 while I was in China, and suddenly the Mimo app switched to Chinese. Then it forced me to accept some program or ‘partner service’ thing before I could even use the app.

I couldn’t find a way to change the language or go back.

My phone had a Chinese SIM card in it — is that what triggered it? Has anyone else seen this happen?

Sounds like China’s trying to sneak in some kind of tracking or control through the app?

I got around it by clearing the app’s cache and data, then using a VPN. But yeah, it was a headache.

Yeah, it’s wild but not really surprising… kind of like how every smart gadget at the Sochi Olympics got tagged by Russian agencies.
