Why do I need ND filters for my drone?

I’ve been hearing a lot about ND filters lately and how they’re a must-have for drone pilots, but I’m still not totally sure what the big deal is. Do you actually need them to improve your drone photography? I know they help with things like overexposure and motion blur, but what else do they do? Anyone here use them regularly and think they’re worth it?

Definitely worth it if you want to improve your shots! ND filters are great for controlling exposure and reducing overexposed areas, especially in bright conditions. They also help with motion blur, which is perfect for cool shots like waterfalls or even fast-moving cars. It’s like giving your drone a pair of sunglasses!

I’ve used ND filters for years and they make a huge difference, especially in bright sunlight. Without them, you’ll get washed-out shots, but with them, everything looks sharp and vibrant. I’ve also noticed they help with reducing that annoying lens flare.

Do ND filters cause any problems? I’ve heard they mess with autofocus and stabilization sometimes, is that true?

Are adjustable ND filters worth getting? I’ve seen some with the variable option, but not sure if they’re really necessary.

I feel like ND filters are underrated. A lot of people just rely on software to fix their photos, but it’s so much easier to get the right exposure in-camera with the filters. Plus, you can’t really replicate motion blur or lens flare effects in post-processing the same way.
