Why Does My Drone Fall Over When I Arm It?

Hi everyone,

I just got a Mobula 8, a Radiomaster Pocket, and Walksnail HD goggles. I’m really excited to start flying, but I’ve hit a problem. When I arm my drone, it immediately tips over onto its side.

Here’s what I’ve checked so far:

  • Prop orientation: Double-checked, and they’re correct.
  • Motor direction: Each motor is spinning the way it should.
  • Motor outputs: Testing shows the right motor moves as expected.

Even with all this, the issue is still there. Could it be the board alignment? In Betaflight, does the board alignment need to be set to CW 0%, or could it be something else in the settings?

Is there a Mobula 8 profile I can download and use to troubleshoot?

Any tips or advice would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance for the help!

You can check these links for the manual and dump file:

Thanks for the links! I’m new to this—how do I use these in Betaflight?

In the CLI tab, you can load the file. Make sure you’ve got the correct file for your specific model. If you don’t see the CLI tab, you might need to enable expert mode.

I loaded the file, but now my Radiomaster Pocket’s inputs are messed up. My throttle is on the right stick. Is there a quick way to fix this?

It sounds like a channel map issue. Check out this guide: Channel Mapping Guide.

To check board alignment, hold the drone in your hand and move it around. The model on the first tab of Betaflight should move the same way.
