Why is buying from DJI so frustrating?

Trying to get an M4P is such a hassle no matter where you look.

When I tried buying it directly from DJI’s website, I went through the entire process of entering my credit card info and shipping/billing addresses, only to be told it was ‘OUT OF STOCK’ after placing the order.

Why even let me add it to the cart if it’s not available? Just block me from ordering it in the first place.

Not sure if this is a supply issue or something to do with U.S. customs, but the whole experience with DJI’s purchasing system has been disappointing.

I just bought an M4P in the U.S. last week with no problems. Got it delivered in 4 days. :man_shrugging:

I’ve seen posts about M4P being available at Costco—both online and in some local warehouses.

Yep, I grabbed mine at Costco in December. Great price too.

My local Costco had it this week for around $750.

I’ve always had smooth experiences ordering from DJISjop in the U.S. I recently ordered a Flip, and it arrived in three days from Hong Kong.

Adorama usually has stock available.

Try Costco, Adorama, or BHPhotoVideo. It’s not that hard to find.

If you’re near a Microcenter, they usually stock DJI drones. Otherwise, places like Costco or Best Buy are good options too.

I’ve had the same experience trying to get a Mini Pro extended life battery. They let me order it and then tell me it’s out of stock. What’s the point?

I bought mine from Walmart’s website.

Got my M4P from Adorama. Ordered on Tuesday and it arrived yesterday.

Sounds like a U.S. problem. I bought one in Australia, and it was super easy.

Yeah, because buying a drone in Australia is so much easier, right? Good for you, mate.

It really is easier here. But I don’t care much about people’s buying issues in the U.S. Maybe write to your government if you’re upset?

@Teal
I’m in the U.S., and I’ve had no problems ordering directly from DJI, even recently. I don’t see what the big deal is.

Let’s not make this political. I’m from India and had no issues ordering in the U.S. either. Sometimes it’s just about timing or stock availability.

@Marley
It’s not just timing. The U.S. recently passed a bill that could ban DJI drones starting in 2026 unless there’s an exception. Customs delays are part of the problem too.

That’s not true. DJI drones aren’t banned in the U.S., and customs issues were resolved a while ago. Retailers have plenty in stock now.

@Merlin
You might want to check the news. A bill was passed, and unless Congress steps in, DJI will be added to the FCC’s banned list in 2026. Also, some drones like the Air 3 are still hard to find due to customs issues.
