So, I was reading this interesting report about how DJI is still the biggest drone manufacturer, but they’re shrinking while other companies like Skydio and Autel are actually growing. Apparently, DJI’s brand awareness is still huge, but they’re losing ground in some ways. Meanwhile, Skydio and Autel are seeing a rise in both growth and attention. Anyone else find it surprising that Parrot’s shifting focus to enterprise drones might be a good move? I thought they were done for after the Bebop days lol.
Yeah, it’s kinda wild to see DJI lose some of its hold. I always thought they were invincible in the consumer market. Skydio seems to be gaining a lot of traction lately, especially with the Skydio X10. Those low-light cameras are a game changer!
@Amani
I agree, the X10 looks awesome. But I’m curious—how does the night vision compare to other drones out there? I haven’t seen any real reviews yet.

From what I’ve read, it’s pretty top-notch. It uses some next-level sensors that help it see better in the dark compared to most others, but you’re right, reviews are still kinda limited. I’ll keep an eye out for more.
I think DJI’s shrinking because people are looking for alternatives, especially with all the talk about Chinese tech. Autel is capitalizing on that by positioning itself as more ‘American-made’ with their USA manufacturing, even though parts are still from China. It’s a weird situation.
@Koa
Yeah, I don’t get the obsession with ‘Made in USA’ either. It’s still got a ton of Chinese parts lol. But I guess it’s more about how it’s marketed?
Parrot’s shift to enterprise drones makes sense when you think about it. The market for consumer drones is getting crowded, and they’re smart to focus on photogrammetry and those specialized products. I don’t think they’re going anywhere.
@Kip
Yeah, you’re right. But I wonder if they’ll ever regain that consumer market they had with the AR.Drone and Bebop? That was such a fun era for drones.
Skydio’s brand awareness is definitely growing. They’ve been making some big moves, especially with that $230 million funding round. Seems like they’re really doubling down on enterprise. Honestly, I think they’ve got a good shot at becoming a top player in the drone space.
@Rory
Same. Plus, the fact that they’re focusing more on the high-end tech and enterprise drones just gives them more room to grow. It’ll be interesting to see where they go next.
It’s kinda funny how China still leads the drone market, but the U.S. and European manufacturers are making moves. Wonder if we’ll see any more crazy shifts in the next few years.
