Why is my RC2 remote showing the wrong GPS location?

Hey, I just got my first DJI drone, and I’m using it with the RC2 remote. The problem is, the GPS in the ‘Before You Fly’ section isn’t working right. It keeps placing me way off like somewhere in the middle of the ocean, nowhere near Australia where I actually am.

Really appreciate any help!

That spot you’re seeing is where the equator and prime meridian cross. It’s not that the system thinks you’re actually there — it just has no clue where you are yet.

Looks like it’s not picking up any GPS signal at all. That 0,0 location means it hasn’t locked onto anything yet.

What drone are you using? That sounds more like the regular RC remote. The RC2 has antennas. If your drone needs the RC2 but you’ve got the regular RC, that might be part of the issue.

The regular RC has antennas too — they’re just hidden inside. Not the best idea honestly.

@Laurel
Yeah, the RC2 has built-in antennas in the same spot, but they also added the external ones on top.

Are you using it indoors by any chance?

That doesn’t look like the RC2 to me.

I think that’s just the ‘places to fly’ toggle you’re seeing there.
