Any non-Chinese drones out there? What are my options?

There’s no harm in choosing not to support a Chinese company with my money, though.

You might be surprised how much of your tech is made in China already.

You’re right, but I can still try to find alternatives.

It’s not just about my data. It’s about all the data from DJI users combined. That kind of real-time access can be a security risk.

So, you think a drone from Best Buy is a national security risk?

People downplaying your concerns don’t seem to understand the bigger picture here. It’s not about individual data but about the collective data.

@Storm
But has this risk been proven, or is it just speculation? I’m genuinely asking. I don’t have the skills to analyze this myself, but I keep seeing the same claim without concrete evidence.

In China, successful companies are often tied to the government, and they have to hand over data if asked. They might not do it every day, but the potential is there.

@Nash
That’s why I try to buy American-made products when possible. It’s not always easy, but I feel better about it.

Ever wonder why the US government banned DJI from being used in sensitive areas? It’s not just paranoia.

@Nico
I doubt the Chinese government uses American-made tech for their military either.

@Nico
I’m just looking for proof. Actual evidence, not just speculation. What’s the real danger?

You say you haven’t looked because you don’t care, but you’re asking others to prove it for you. Seems contradictory, doesn’t it?

It’s not paranoia. China has a long history of electronic spying. Just look it up.

@Storm
The US has been caught spying on its allies too. Should they ban iPhones then?

The Chinese government has access to any data from companies like DJI if they want it. It’s why US agencies are banning their drones.

@Storm
Meanwhile, the US spies on the EU and Japan, but they don’t ban American tech.

@Storm
What American-made phone do you use then? /s

It’s not just about where it’s made, but who has access to the data. My phone might not be secure, but it’s better than one owned by a Chinese company.

@Storm
Look, American elites are a bigger threat to our own citizens than the Chinese government. They have more power over us than China ever will.

Like the Chinese military is going to use drones to parachute soldiers into random American homes. :roll_eyes:

:joy: Nope. It’s DJI or nothing, really.

Why no Chinese drones? What’s the concern there?
