DHL's driver faked a delivery and DJI won't give me a refund for my drone I didn't get?

That’s a costly lesson. Cash offers no protection.

This is why I avoid having expensive packages delivered to my home. I choose to pick them up myself. Sorry for what you’re going through.

From now on, I’ll do that for any DHL packages, even if it’s a day late. So much can go wrong with how their contracted drivers operate. Some have no morals and take advantage of loopholes to steal. Others don’t follow instructions for delivery, leaving packages vulnerable. The fact that DHL packages show the contents only adds to the problem. Plus, if you require a signature and aren’t home, you’ll miss the delivery window. I really dislike their delivery system; it’s so flawed!

If you use Amex through PayPal, they usually cover issues like this without hassle.

DJI isn’t at fault here; they can’t file a claim if they have evidence the package was delivered. That would be fraud without proof.

You need to go to small claims court against DHL. The email from Steven can support your case, but it isn’t proof itself. The court could see it as hearsay.

@Macon
The strongest evidence would be the security footage that I don’t possess. My leasing office has it, but they refuse to give me access without a police officer present at their request. It’s awkward dealing with them as they aren’t very helpful.

I realize it’s not entirely DJI’s fault and that the driver’s termination isn’t the perfect evidence, but it illustrates what I could find to tell the story about my package. Everything clearly points to the driver’s misconduct and failure to follow DHL delivery standards. Both the officer and the DPR manager’s words should carry weight here.

I hope this reflects DJI’s dedication to customer satisfaction versus profits.

@Gale
I suspect that the official DHL can’t process a claim here, since it wasn’t lost, stolen, or damaged by some external party. The theft occurred within DHL deliveries by a third-party provider. They could risk losing their contract with DHL.

@Macon
Good point. I think I’ll keep pushing this angle. You might be onto something. This operations manager seemed hesitant to update the report because it could impact his work. It’s a real issue. I’ve reached out again and demanded he notify DHL about the incident since it affects the claims process. Firing the driver without contacting police isn’t right. If a cashier pockets money and gets caught, they’d be fired and face charges, right? Surely this manager should do the same?

Thank goodness the DHL CEO doesn’t have to pay you back. The American government really protects CEOs and companies. There’s a lesson for the EU there. /s

Maybe it’s time for you to take a break from the internet for a bit.
