I’m curious to hear from anyone who’s actually owned both a Holy Stone HS600 and a DJI Mini 2 SE or even the Mini 3 or 4 Pro. If you’ve tried both, what are your thoughts? Feel free to reply here or DM me. I’d prefer responses from people who have real experience with both drones. Thanks!
Honestly, you get what you pay for. If you’re expecting the Holy Stone to be on the same level as DJI, you’re gonna be disappointed.

So you’ve used both of them?

I’ve seen them both in action. Holy Stone is the underdog for sure, while DJI has the upper hand in every category.

I don’t need to own both to see the difference. Holy Stone can be okay for the price, but it’s nowhere near DJI’s level. Keep your expectations in check, and it might work for you.
@Ezra
Kinda common sense, right? Holy Stone costs like $200, while a DJI Mini 3 Pro is around $700. No surprise which one’s better.

Just keep in mind that the cheaper Holy Stone models don’t have obstacle avoidance, which could be a deal-breaker.

Funny thing, even DJI drones sometimes go rogue. My HS lost connection mid-flight yesterday and disappeared. Seen similar posts about DJI too.
I’ve owned both. Holy Stone is a great starter drone because it’s cheap, so it doesn’t hurt as much if you crash it. But the DJI Mini 3 is next-level—worth every penny.

Can a Holy Stone carry a GoPro?
@Rowe
Nope, it’s too lightweight for that.

Totally get that! When I eventually wreck mine, at least I’m only out $160 and not $1,200.

You could always get DJI Refresh or insurance for peace of mind.

Even without insurance, DJI’s repair service is impressive. Sent in my Mavic 3 and Mini 2 for repairs, and the costs were pretty reasonable. Got both back as brand new, and they even cover shipping!
@Rio
Good to know! I’ve heard the 720 series from Holy Stone has some connection issues, though. Just curious what options might be around if DJI ever gets banned here.

I wouldn’t worry too much. Banning DJI would take a while, if it happens at all. Companies using DJI aren’t even phased. It’s all a lot of noise, I think.
@Rio
True. There are plenty of companies that could fill the gap if DJI’s out. A ban might even get tied up in court for a while. So yeah, just a minor concern for now.

Wonder if DJI insurance would even cover a ban?

Nah, don’t think so. It’d be pretty unpredictable if that happened.
With tech, you get what you pay for. I’ve tried a $200 drone and the Mini 3 Pro… let’s just say there’s no comparison.
