Do you have a night flying license for your drone?

Not exactly. In Canada, there’s no special night license needed. I have an advanced drone operator license, and my drones have approved lights for night flights. Even basic operators can fly at night if they follow the rules.
@Vega
Got it, seems like a pretty relaxed setup.

Actually, if it’s a Mini (under 250g), you don’t need a license or registration here—just need to follow a few rules.

Yeah, but you still need an anti-collision light for night flights.

Interesting. Here in Australia, it’s much stricter—you need a special license for any night flights.
Do you use any filters for these shots?

Nope, no filters for night photography. They wouldn’t help much for still shots like these.

I was just wondering if a UV filter could add any special effects with the aurora.
@Aki
Not really. Digital cameras already have UV filters built into their sensors. The only filters that might help at night would be specialized ones for astro photography.

Thanks for explaining that!
I have a Spark drone. What app should I use with an Android phone? The DJI app used to work, but it doesn’t anymore. Thanks!
