DJI Mic Mini isn’t really better than those $20-$30 Mic you can get from any store
Because if the brand people pay hundreds of dollars to DJI

It’s quite good in specific use cases. Pairing it with my DJI Osmo Action it works great. The mic connects automatically after turning both on and by using its own proprietary protocol the audio quality is great without the need for the RX. Also the noise cancelling works well.
Using the TX directly with a phone like advertised is hopeless though.
@Luca
Thank you! I’ve got all these comments like “oh it works XYZ” and I’m like “yeah, that’s great for you, but I need it to work ABC like they advertised!”

Yeah, big buyer’s remorse. Disappointed in one of their products for the first time.
@Hayes
DJI is great with consumer drones and they’re good with action cameras. Some of my buddies use Rode Mics which have been quite good
Was able to connect it to my phone without receiver. Have u read the manual?

Front to back multiple times, plus forums. RX doesn’t connect except when plugged in. TX connect directly, but do not record audio. Audio only records with RX plugged in and TX connected to it, but sound is trash.
@Hayes
To my knowledge if you are using bluetooth you need to tell your phone to use the bluetooth device to record audio. Which is different for most phones.
They didn’t lie they just didn’t mention that it only works with third party apps. For any phone, you can use a third party app such as black magic, which allows you to select the audio source which can be a bluetooth option.
Regardless most phones dont normally like selecting the audio source as a bluetooth option… because it’s not great a protocol for it.
@Luca
The problem is the fact that I can’t use it to capture decent, wireless audio with the DJI Flip or Neo using the DJI Fly app. I’m not concerned with audio from my phone camera.

Then why have the mic?
Regardless your point of view “dji lied” is objectively false information. They didnt lie. It does work, but only with third party apps.
Which is reasonable because why use the base app anyway.
But using the dji fly app isnt a great idea either. Cause it will try to filter the audio making it ass.
@Luca
For ease of use! That’s the entire point of the autonomous modes for vlogging! Throw it in the air, it’s like a personal cameraman, the ecosystem should work seamlessly, it’s not much to ask.
If you’re only going to be critical of my use case scenario and purpose, why comment?
@Hayes
My comment is there to point out the blatant misinformation.
My point of why have the mic, relates to you saying you “im not concerned with the audio from my phone camera.”
However, rereading it im assuming thats a logic error and you should clarify.
@Luca
Dude.
The only way to record audio directly to the video when filming autonomously with the Flip is via the DJI Fly app.
I do not need to use the mic with the camera on my phone. I am not talking about my phone camera.
I need to use the DJI microphone with the DJI Fly app to record audio filming with the DJI Flip.
I have provided all of this clarity already. You are trolling at this point.
@Hayes
No you’re just not making that clear. But now you have… from what i can find dji make it so you can only use the rx to connect via the dji fly app so the audio quality is greater.

That was literally in his first reply to you. Him saying he wants to use the dji fly app.
@Luca
THANK YOU! I swear to god, the ones giving the most detailed and insistent replies can’t fucking read!
I read and read about the mini mic for the Bluetooth functionality and finally read the pairing only works with their Osmo cameras.

The bluetooth works on phones but only with third party camera apps.
@Luca
And sounds like shit.
