Bought this morning used got a good deal on it. Do you guys ever fly it past you line of vision around like a neighborhood or anything I would love to try to do something like that. The advertised range is also 10km how far have you guys flown?
Depends on where you live, but flying beyond visual line of sight (VLOS) is usually not allowed.

Didn’t know that… how far have you flown before losing connection?

Did you buy a drone without checking your local drone laws first?

It’s not just about losing connection—you always need to keep it in sight, depending on your country’s rules. If that applies to you, maybe try standing somewhere higher, like on a rooftop, so you can keep an eye on it.
I did the same when I first got mine—flew before really understanding the rules. Definitely look them up and get your TRUST certificate (it’s free and easy). Most places don’t allow flying beyond VLOS.
@Noah
How far have you flown?
Checked my flight logs—it was about 1,400 feet away. Could’ve gone farther, but I didn’t push it. There are some crazy range test videos on YouTube, though. Just be careful—if it drops behind buildings or trees, the signal can get weak fast.
@Noah
That’s really good!
No way you’re flying 10km. On a good day, I can maybe hit 1km at 120m height, but I’m in Europe, so maybe it’s different where you are.

Yeah, Europe has stricter power limits—probably around 30dBm EIRP, while the US allows 33dBm or more.
@Penn
So does that mean you can fly farther in the US?

Technically, yes, but it really depends on interference and obstacles. Even with more power, if you’re flying in an area with lots of signal interference, you won’t get the full range.
@Penn
I’m in a suburban area, no tall buildings for miles, just two-story houses. Maybe I’ll get decent range.
Realistically, how far can you actually see the Mini 3? 100m? Hard to believe you can spot it from much farther than that.

More like 50m. That’s why the live feed is so useful—it’s what makes flying fun!
Congrats! You should get DJI Care Refresh for peace of mind. Fly safe and have fun!

How much is it? I bought mine second-hand—can I still get it?
I’ve flown up to 7km, but that was over the ocean—clear line of sight, no interference. In a city, though, with buildings and trees? You’d be lucky to get 1km.

There are no tall buildings near me, so I might get decent range.
